Fantasmic Dining

Fantasmic! Dining: A Show AND a Meal!

One of the great shows that Disney puts on is Fantasmic which takes place most nights (and sometimes even twice a night depending on the season) in Hollywood Studios.  We highly recommend the show, although it can be scary for younger kids.  However, seating can sometimes be challenging, especially during peak seasons.  There is an option that Disney offers to help with this problem: The Fantasmic Dining Plan.  What is great about the plan is that it doesn’t cost you anything above the cost of the meal at the restaurant you choose.  You select from the list below for lunch or dinner and you get premium seats reserved for the show.  In fact, we were running late to the show because we went to one of the local kosher places outside of the parks, and although they weren’t letting anyone else into the show, with our special tickets we were not only let in, but seated in the 3rd row! Each restaurant offers something different in the way of experience (but you will probably get the same, or similar, options for kosher food):

The Hollywood Brown Derby – Relive the glory days of Hollywood with a replica of the Hollywood icon.  The restaurant even includes the famous celebrities’ caricatures on the wall.

Hollywood & Vine – The only character dining option with the Fantasmic Dining deal.  Have lunch with everyone’s favorite Disney Junior characters from Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Handy Manny. Alternatively, the dinner meal has Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy (all characters are subject to change).

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano – The most scaled down of the options, usually the least busy, and most of the time the cheapest.  This would be a good option if you have smaller children who might be restless and make a fuss, or if you might need to eat and run. The  wait staff is well prepared for young eaters as we were provided with crayons and coloring pages to keep the little ones entertained.
